MIssion & Values

The San Francisco Arts Commission is the City agency that champions the arts as essential to daily life by investing in a vibrant arts community, enlivening the urban environment and shaping innovative cultural policy.

Strategic Plan

In 2013, Arts Commission staff and Commissioners set out to articulate a new vision for the agency for the next five years.  Through this effort, we refreshed our mission statement, confirmed our values, and identified process improvements that will help us to better serve San Francisco.

The Commission

Members of the San Francisco Arts Commission are appointed by the Mayor and volunteer their time to oversee the work of the agency.

For your ease, we've created a library of all of the guidelines and policies that govern our work.

Annual Reports

Our annual reports highlight the agency's work each fiscal year. Learn more about what we are doing in your community.

The Arts Commission is grateful to those who have supported our work over the years.
