Walk-ins welcome

SFAC Galleries in partnership with SOMA Pilipinas will host two oral history recording events in remembrance of and inspired by Filipino American visual artist, educator, and activist Carlos Villa. Artists and community members are invited to share their memories and reflections of Villa's life and work. The audio recordings collected on these days will support SOMA Pilipinas in piloting their Living Legacy Digital Archive.

The residents, community members, and organizations are the lifeblood of our cultural district and the cultural bearers of our historic legacies. The SOMA Pilipinas Living Legacy Archive hopes to recognize the contributions, rich history, and thriving culture of Filipinos in SOMA, San Francisco, and the greater Bay Area region.
