Join the San Francisco Arts Commission for the opening reception of Ceremonies: Ritual to Self, a group exhibition featuring work by Demian DinéYazhi', Gericault De La Rose, Khari Johnson-Ricks, J Rivera Pansa, and André Bloodstone Singleton. Curated by independent curator PJ Policarpio Gubatina, the exhibition draws upon the life and writings of celebrated writer, editor, and activist Essex Hemphill (1957 – 1995) who was best known for his urgent and uncompromising writing on the intersections of race, class, and sexuality.
Ceremonies: Ritual to Self will be on view in the SFAC Main Gallery from February 6- May 3, 2025.
