From the River to the Bay Curated by Chris Gazaleh
From the River to the Bay is a multidisciplinary exhibition featuring the works of 11 Palestinian and solidarity artists. The exhibit delves into the Bay Area’s enduring legacy of social movements, affirming that everyone—from community organizers to studio artists—has a role in the struggle for freedom.

National Tools by Daniela Tinoco Solo Exhibition
This work repurposes fragments from the 1950s and 1960s Golden Book Encyclopedia, originally made for children, and vintage U.S. corporate stock certificates—two artifacts that have shaped and spread the national historical narrative created by the United States. Using these found materials, Tinoco critiques the national meta-narrative embedded in them, revealing the violence they perpetuate.

Bulong by Aureen Almario
Bulong, meaning “whisper” in Tagalog, is a multidisciplinary, shadow puppet performance that explores the hidden lives of immigrant Filipina women and children in America.

Incorporating live performance, original music, shadow puppetry and Filipino folktales, Bulong follows Aya, an imaginative young girl who finds her journey with her family from the Philippines to America to be both magical and bittersweet.

Loosely inspired by personal experiences, director Aureen Almario crafts a whimsical tale around the very real yet lesser-known narratives of immigrant Filipino families.

For this work-in-progress, audiences are welcome to participate in a brief Q&A with the director and cast after each show. Audience feedback will be much appreciated as we continue to develop Bulong in the future.
