Cultural Services Allocation Plan (CSAP)
In partnership with the consulting firm AMS Planning & Research, the San Francisco Arts Commission (SFAC) engaged with grantees and community stakeholders through a series of community open houses, a youth focus group and administered a public survey to gather feedback and identify the post pressing arts priorities and determine funding opportunities most important for the arts community. These findings helped develop recommendations for the 2024-2029 Cultural Services Allocation Plan that will inform the priorities for the Arts Impact Endowment grants over the next five years.
Arts Impact Endowment (AIE) funding is supported by Hotel Tax (Prop E) funds.

In November 2018, 75% of San Francisco voters passed Proposition E, a ballot initiative that restored the dedicated hotel tax revenue for arts and culture purposes. Proposition E ensured that 1.5% of San Francisco’s 14% hotel tax be directed to arts and culture initiatives that include allocations for Grants for the Arts, Cultural Equity Endowment, Cultural Centers, Cultural Districts, and the Arts Impact Endowment (AIE). The Arts Impact Endowment Fund is currently guided by the 2019-2024 Cultural Services Allocation Plan that was developed through a robust community engagement process.
