Community Gathering in Honor of Ebony McKinney

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news that our dear colleague Ebony McKinney passed away suddenly on Saturday afternoon from complications related to pneumonia and lupus.

Ebony was a beloved leader in the Bay Area and national arts communities. We invite the community to gather informally to honor and celebrate Ebony's life and legacy at SOMArts from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A Bay Area memorial will be coordinated with her family for a later date. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that donations can be made in Ebony's honor to the Red Poppy Art House or Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society.

We look forward to gathering with those who knew and loved her. You can learn more about Ebony's life and legacy in this lovely tribute by KQED.
