About Patricia's Green Public Art Program in Hayes Valley
The annual rotating sculpture public art program at Patricia’s Green in Hayes Valley is managed by the San Francisco Arts Commission. Thanks to the advocacy efforts of the Hayes Valley community, funding for the program comes from development impact fees which are allocated exclusively for this purpose as the result of advocacy efforts from the Hayes Valley community. Since 2005, Patricia’s Green has been a site for large-scale sculptural installations. The opportunity to display work from artists from the Greater Bay Area is announced publicly every year and a panel of local community members selects their choice. Artists are contracted to loan their work to the City and their fees cover transportation and installation costs as well as an artist honorarium.
