2023 SFAC Grantees

San Francisco Arts Commission awards $6.7 million to 147 arts nonprofits and individual artists for grants beginning fiscal year 2023. This investment in San Francisco's arts ecosystem supports 82 San Francisco-based individual artists and 65 local arts nonprofits, all of whom affirm the Arts Commission’s commitment to Racial and Cultural Equity and enables artists to be at the forefront of the City’s resilience and recovery efforts.

Arts Impact Endowment First-Time Grantee Initiative (AIE) 
FY23 Arts Impact Endowment First-Time Grantee Initiative (AIE) grantees were selected through a competitive RFP process with application deadlines beginning in summer 2022 for one grant category with four grant subcategories. The majority of projects began March 1, 2023 (with a few starting in April or May 2023). Virtual review panels took place over five days in November 2022 with 25 peer panelists serving the process of reviewing 117 applications. 
 
Cultural Equity Grants (CEG) 
FY23 Cultural Equity Grants (CEG) grantees were selected through a competitive RFP process with application deadlines beginning in fall 2022 for five different grant categories. The majority of projects will begin on July 1, 2023. Virtual review panels took place over fourteen days from January to March 2023 with 38 peer panelists serving the process of reviewing 181 applications.
